6.8.17
Week 2.
After a week of slow runs and nursing the hamstring, I wanted to take it easy for this one. With BSL70.3 just a few weeks away, I didn't want to risk injury.
That said, my competitive nature would not allow me to dial too far back. My plan was to lock in in the mid 8's and try to run a consistent pace.
I got off to a solid, but controlled start, and booked a 8:25 mile 1. While I could feel the hammy pull, I was not in pain. The controlled pace seemed to be the correct strategy. Miles 2 and 3 were 8:33 and 8:16. I was able to speed to a 7:33 pace for the .1 and finish strong. 26:06. Good for 2nd in Clydesdale behind Jan. My fastest time since the 2015 series and a well executed race.
