After missing week 11 due to travel, Griffin and I were back for week 12, the last week of the series. I have had a blast running with the little guy each week. These are memories that I will not soon forget.
We had a rainstorm come though this afternoon. While the trail would be wet and sloppy, the temps were awesome.
I haven't run much lately, but, began my clean eating cleanse on Monday, and registered for Austin 70.3 today, so, was feeling good and confident.
We got out to a good start, and I booked a 8:33 1st mile. I was feeling good as I made the turn, and kept my pace up with a 8:46 mile 2. I briefly walked the water stop, but, picked the pace back up and booked a 8:44 mile 3. total time: 27 flat.
I was much slower this year than last, due mostly to lack of training and poor diet, but, it was a great 12 weeks. My time tonight was enough to get me 1st in Clydesdale, and, I took 1st for the series. I am committed to not racing at this weight next summer.
Griffin had a slower night than usual, and booked a 42:45. The little guy completed 11 of the 12 races this series, and, ran 13 total races over the summer. I'm so proud of the little guy!
As always, I appreciate this series, Cox Running Club, and the good friends that are made! looking forward to '17!
